as we lie awake in bed
and the distance that’s between us
could swallow centuries and stars

I could melt these prison bars

that held us in a trance

wants to lead its fateful dance
but we’re still bathing in the moment
of this oneness that we feel
at the core of our emotions
at the heart of all that’s real.
